What/Where is baby going to sleep when you bring the LO home? I'm having a dilemma, and I just want to see what you guys are planning on doing. Thanks!
We got a basinette for our bedroom due to space issues and a pack n play for the living room with the sleeper attachment (we have a 3 story townhouse and I didn't want to deal with lugging stuff up and down the stairs).
The bassinet attachment on the PnP for probably close to 6 months (that is where DS slept and DS in still in the crib, so we aren't planning to move him until the new baby needs the crib AND until after we move at the end of the year).
Thank you guys.... Does anyone have animal issues at all, esp cats? I worried about that because I cant shut my door and keep the cats out or we literally wont get any sleep, and I dont have the worlds largest house to put the cats elsewhere.... Im leaning towards bassinette..
A bassinet until he moves to his crib. The bassinet also turns into a moses basket if I want to take it out of our bedroom easily. It's from pottery barn

I was told bassinets are a waste of money since they grow out of em so fast..We have a pack and play with a bassinet type feature on top that can be removed for the playpen
Pretty much this..
I also read for the cat thing to put double sided tape on things you dont want them to jump on? Our cats used to sleep in our room but once one started jumping in the bassinet part I kicked em out..theyre fine in the living room and our little boy usually wont cry till the morning when SO works..
I think I also heard something about using tin foil to keep cats away? I havent tried either but the tape I read in two cat books when we adopted our fur babies.
Our DS is going to sleep in his crib from day 1. We've got it set up in our bedroom, since we bought a 1 bedroom apartment. We've got a little pop up travel cot for the living room, so he can relax in either that or his bouncer when he's not being held.

We have a Graco Travel Lite crib that will be in our bedroom for the first couple months. She'll take naps in her crib in her own room, but at night she'll be in our room.
We have a bassinet that he will sleep in in our bedroom when he comes home. I hope to not have him in there too long since his bedroom is right next to ours. SO commmutes to work and he needs as much sleep as he can get so I'm afraid LO being in our bedroom might cause some problems. But we'll just play it by ear.

We'll be doing a bassinet in our room for a while, then to the crib. As to your other question - we have two dogs, but they aren't allowed upstairs (where all the bedrooms are). They are outside all day, and they sleep in the basement at night. This is a change for them, though. We just built this house (a 2 story). Our old one was a ranch, and the dogs had free reign over the the house, and they slept in dog beds in our bedroom. I think it was a difficult adjustment at first, and our French Bulldog especially hated it, but they've adapted. I'd advise you to try to keep the cats out of the room where the baby sleeps, even if it means you have to listen to them whine for a while. I'd lock them in a room where you can't hear them or something.
We have an arms reach mini cosleeper which will be next to our bed for the first few weeks or couple months. I also plan to put him down for naps in the crib as early as possible so he gets used to it.

We have one very spoiled cat who usually sleeps at the bottom of our bed. Not sure how that will change once baby comes. We'll probably lock him out in the beginning, maybe permanently. Ugh, he's going to be pissed!
He will sleep in the family heirloom bassinet (from the early 1900's) for the first few months. After that, he'll sleep in a pack n play, then the crib.
we're going to try to start him off in the crib, actually. his nursery is maybe ten steps down the hall from ours, so it's really not a huge deal to get up. if it doesn't work, we have a pack n' play with a bassinet attachment that we'll use in our room. we're new to this so we'll be playing it by ear!

Just saw this. I totally know what you mean about not being able to shut the door with cats if you want to get any sleep. I was worried with DS1 at first - thinking our cat might jump in the bassinet and smother him.
She had no interest in him what-so-ever. She either slept on our bed or found a corner in our closet as usual.
My son hated sleeping in his crib and bassinet. He ended up sleeping in his carseat for the first 2 months and then in our bed until he was 6 months. You'll do anything to get some Z's.

Yes, I have two cats. If we shut our door, one will sit there and scratch until we let her in. We chose the Travel Lite Crib because I can have it right up against the bed, and we've had it there for about a week now and the cats aren't showing any interest in it because its on my side of the bed. If it was on DHs side, they'd be all over it. I don't know why lol
We are going to use the Pack n Play for the first few months, it is already set up in our bedroom. Unfortunately, my Siamese kitten (who will be 1 year old the day LO is due) loves the PnP and also loves to sleep on me. I have no idea how he will react to a baby. I fully expect my other cat and our dog to be terrified of the baby.
And we are in the same boat--if we shut the animals out, we would get no sleep. 2 of them sleep with us every night and the other about half the time.
Just kidding. I remember how much drama a post caused about that a few weeks back.
Baby will sleep probably in a pack & play since I am a bit displaced since leaving my husband. I also have one of those infant sleeper things that go in my bed too.
Re: What is baby going to sleep in?
Ours will be in a bassinet in our room for the first little while then a crib if that is what you are asking?
With our first he stayed in either sleepers or onesies for the first few months. We plan on doing this same this time around.
Edit: Shoot I thought you meant clothes lol. Shows how sleepy I am. We will have him in a bassinet in our room until he outgrows it.

We registered for an Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper.

By the title of the post, I thought she meant clothes, too. It should be where is your baby going to sleep...but then her actual post did ask where.

That's the same as we did with DS#1.
