Constipation...

What do you do when your LO gets it?  Any tricks or anything I can give her?  Just wondering.  She drinks up sooo much air when she's feeding and then when it's time to go to the bathroom, you can tell she gets so frustrated and looks like she's in pain.

    That's totally normal- I wouldn't give anything. Babies have to learn how their bodies work. They don't necessarily know to just relax and let it out.

    If it's been 5 days (maybe less for a FF baby, not sure) sine she has had a bowel movement, then she is constipated and you should call your pedi.

    She has BM on a regular basis.  A few everyday.  It just looks like she's having more trouble lately going #2 or letting gas out.  Thanks for the advice!

    Have you tried mylicon? It didn't work for DS when he was that little, but it works great now. I give it to him after every feeding and it really makes him fart. Gets all that gas out of his little tummy.

    If she us truly constipated, a little bit of prune juice helps, but if she's having regular bowel movements, she's prob okay. You wanna look for frequency AND consistency. Her poop should not be hard and sometimes FF babies go a few days between bowel movements.

    I asked my pedi today, he said as long as she's pooping once every 5-6 days and it isnt a thicker consistency than peanut butter she's fine. I bf though..dont know if that matters.
