Today I completed round 3 of 6! I am so close to being done I can almost taste it. Whoo-hoo!!!
I also haven't lost my eyebrows or eyelashes, so it is unlikely those will go. I got myself a cute new wig and honestly feel like a normal person again. (The free wig I got from ACS I decided didn't fit my face/style that well so I went ahead and purchased a different one. I'll donate both when I'm done with treatment.)
The only glitch in my so-far-easy treatment is that I've now developed anemia and the doctor I saw today wasn't sure why. My theory (and a little TMI) - I got my period this morning. Since chemo wreaks havoc with one's menstrual cycle, this is actually the first one I've had in like 6 weeks and it was heavier than normal. I really think this is what is causing the anemia. We're just keeping an eye on the numbers at this point and if they continue to go down at my next treatment (in 3 weeks), we'll talk about what needs to happen.
Keep sending those good vibes my way because they are obviously working.
Re: NBR: Halfway done with chemo!!!
That is excellent news! I hope it it's the second half is even easier!
How is your sweet little DD holding up?
My mom did her chemo and radiation simultaneously and had minimal hair loss, and none to her eyebrows or lashes, so here's hoping that works for you, too.
I know you'll make it through. We won't have it any other way.
Hopefully it is AF's fault for the anemia. I've had really severe anemia so if it gets worse and you need the shots or the transfusion let me know. I've been there. Honestly as long as they keep an eye on it, normally it is no big deal
