NBR: How do you make "pigs in the blanket"

I'm going to a "toy" party tonight and have to take a sexy appetizer.  So I decided that it would be funny to make "pigs in the blanket" and have the "pig" stick out a little farther than normal "pigs".  The problem is, I have no clue how to make them!

Help!

  • I just use crescent rolls and lil' smokies, but I'm lazy like that.

  • I've seen people make them in a variety of ways.  I think crescent dough is popular, but I much prefer puff pastry (found in the freezer section, next to frozen pies).  I've also used chicken sausage - slice lengthwise in quarters.  but you can also use lil smokies or even hot dogs.

I also like to mix dijon mustard and some honey for a dipping sauce.

I honestly didn't know there was any other way to make them!  Oops.
