If your DH has a motorcylce/bike..

What do you/would you wear as far as shoes goes when you ride with him?

My husband has been begging me to ride with him, and I have not been too fond of the idea, yes it looks really nice and "cool" but the thought of a bike scares me, Haha.

Anyways, I've put my fears aside because apparently he has plans for a dinner and a movie tonight. Which I am stoked about because we never get out anymore! But if it were you, what shoes would you wear?

I am not a big fan of tennis shoes or regular shoes with jeans, which is why I am having a hard time deciding. What would you do? :)

  • I've worn boots, sneakers and flip flops. Just to warn you. In the summer or at the beach with flip flops on hurts (sand, bugs or stones may hit your feet). Stick with sneakers or boots! :)

  • We got rid of our bike but I always either wore jeans and sneakers or jeans a pair of old doc martens boots I had since high school. Motorcycle riding is a blast!

Pretty much the same thing. Jeans are better protection (though not great) over any sort of linen/yoga pants. I have a pair of pink pumas that match my jacket but if we were going somewhere after I would wear black ones. Also if you have longer hair, put it in a braid with a bandana and it won't get tangled. I have really long hair and it would turn into a rat's nest without the braid!

  • Tennis shoes or boots. Never flip flops.. ouch!

  • lol...motorcycles - ugh

Sort of off topic but I've always been freaked out about riding on any motorcycle or scooter.  While vacationing in SE Asia back in '08 where everyone and their grandmother rides on scooters, my DH kept hassling/begging me to ride around on one but I held my ground.  No way was I going to ride a scooter....the traffic in Hanoi is insane!  It wasn't until my MIL nearly killed herself in a bicycling accident in Halong Bay where I had to face my fear and hop on the back of a scooter to get to a hospital.  There I was; eyes closed, gripping to the back of this little Vietnamese farmer, scared out of my mind, scared for my MIL riding through the country side dodging chickens in the roadway...what a nightmare.  Needless to say that I got over that fear.

...oh and I was wearing flip-flops and shorts, though I don't rec. doing that.

  • the FEW times i rode i wore jeans and sneakers but if you dont like sneakers wear uggs or other boots that dont have a heel. I hate the bike and am so happy DH is selling it!!

  • My husband doesn't have his bike anymore, but I always wore boots when i rode with him.  If it was in the dead of summer and it was brutally hot out I would wear sneakers.  I loved riding!!!

  • Any type of shoe that doesn't fall off easily.  I would hate to make DH go back for my flip flop!
