white-ish poop

Should I call the doc? She had a poop just now that was pretty close to white. Sorry for the TMI but it was a little darker than eggshell color. I just started her on cow milk and we did have a creamy dinner last night. But this poop was very different than ones I've seen before and it smelled like Satan himself came to my house and pooped in her diaper. Would you call the doctor or am I overly worried?

Re: white-ish poop

  • One time, I wouldn't worry.  Things we eat affect color, consistency, etc... If it continues like that or gets "whiter" (lol)  I would then call the doc.

  • Our pedi has always told me to call if his poop is bloody, black, or whitish.  I'd call to be on the safe side.  Hopefully it's nothing and a one time thing, but I'd rather know that then wait.
After 2 years and 6 IUIs, we did it with IVF w/ ICSI!

  • yeah, i would call too. while what they eat can affect color, white can be a little different. they'll probably just tell you to watch it, but that's what DRs are there for so *always* call

Yes, I would call.  Can't hurt to at least speak to a nurse about it.  And this made me LOL.

  • Someone here shared the Diaper Decoder a while back (sorry, can't clickify from my iPod). And if anyone needs a warning about poop in a post about poop, the following link is all about poop. https://similac.com/feeding-nutrition/diaper-decoder
