Cereal in the car

We have to drive across the state tonight (3 hour drive not including stops).  I suggested to DH that we leave at bedtime and hopefully DD will sleep and not scream like the last time.  Yes, I have the only baby that does not fall asleep in the car. Long story short we have to be there as early as possible tonight so we will be leaving at 5:30. 

DD gets cereal around 7:00.  DH wants to feed cereal in the car and then stop a bit later to feed her a bottle. DH thinks feeding her cereal in the car seat while we are driving will be no big deal.  I think it is not safe and will be a nightmare.  Thoughts?

    I would definitely NOT feed in the car. Can you pull over to feed her cereal? I realize it may be slight inconvenience in travel, plans but IMO it's too much of a choking risk.

    First off feeding cereal in the car sounds like a potential choking hazard and second I cannot even imagine the mess that it would make.  I am with you on this one.

    by the way, you do not have the only child who doesn't sleep in their car seat.  my DD all of a sudden HATES riding in the car.  I am dreading the 2 hour trip we are taking this weekend!

    How old is your LO and how long has she been eating cereal?

    These two factors would make a difference as to whether or not I would feed LO cereal in the car, but I still wouldn't be really keen on the idea. We've only given LO cereal once and so I definitely wouldn't try it in the car at this point.
