Anyone use Kaiser's Infertility Services?

I currently am, and have questions about my treatment thus far. I am on my second cycle of 50mg Clomid. I have not had my lining monitored, a follicle size and number test, or anything else besides my progesterone tested. I feel like I am in the dark about what to expect next if the clomid doesn't work, my care plan seems a bit piece meal. Does this sounds normal?

Re: Anyone use Kaiser's Infertility Services?

  • I'm not on Kaiser, but I did go see a specialist through my PPO after some trouble conceiving. The first steps were hormone test and follicle test for me and a sperm test for my husband. After those came back normal the doc recommended 3 cycles of Clomid before taking any further steps. I hope that helps.

  • I would try posting this on the infertility board.
  • I did.

Unfortunately, yes, this is how Kaiser works.  It's HIGHLY irresponsible for them to be giving you Clomid without monitoring you.  Also, has your DH had an SA done?  Have you had an HSG done already?  Because those should both be done BEFORE they start you on Clomid.  If you have any kind of blockage in your tubes, or your DH has any sperm issues at all, you might be wasting your time doing Clomid right now.

So, on your 1st cycle, how did your progesterone look?

If you end up getting frustrated with Kaiser and looking around, I highly reccomend Oregon Reproductive Medicine.  I love Dr Bankowski there, but several other girls on this board have seen other REs there and had great success!

I TTC for 2 years, so if you have any more questions, just let me know, I'm glad to help with anything that I can!

  • I will have to give a big thumbs up to Dr. Bankowski too.  In my opinion, I wasted several months working with the fertility clinic at OHSU.  I went through 3 cycles of Clomid at OHSU and none of them took.  I went through one round of Clomid with an injection to time ovulation with Dr. Bankowski and it worked the first time.  I appreciated the fact that Dr. Bankowski checked the follicle size and whether I even had follicles ready to be fertilized.  That never happened at OHSU.  In addition, they did not offer the simple injection to time ovulation.  If I had stayed with OHSU, I am 100% certain I would have been going through in-vitro.
