Success after IF

should I go to the pedi?

Izzy got sick Saturday night in Arizona- congested, up all night, cranky.  Saturday, sunday and monday sleeping was awful- she just didn't want to sleep because she couldn't breathe.  I have been using saline drops and sucking out stuff through out the day... but she just doesn't seem to be getting better.  She is still really congested and its been 5 days already.  How long does a cold typically last for a baby?  This is her first cold.

I doubt there is anything the pedi could do- but should I bring her in to make sure there isn't anything else going on?

I just feel so bad- there is so much slimey gunk up there :(

    (i think she means humidifier...)

you could always call.  my bet is that there's nothing they can do but it never hurts to get checked.

have you done the saline spray?  we used a nasal saline mist and squirted it up there till it ran out the other nostril.  sucked for baby but made suctioning so much easier.  also we have a "nosefrida" suction and it rocks!

  • yes we have been also using a humidifier.  Poor little bug Sad

its the squeeze bottle- it doesn't mist.  Maybe I should look for that.

the one we have is an aerosol.  might be worth a shot...i bet it feels better than a solid stream of saline too.  poor thing.
