Freaking out at diaper changes/clothes changing?

Anyone else's DC do this? Since about 10 months he freaks out screaming his head off and writhing around when I try to change his diaper or get him dressed.  I have to have FI's help and it's like a race to see how fast I can get it done.  I dread every diaper change.....any tips or anyone else go through this?

Tell me it's a phase please....I used to have such a happy baby at diaper time!

  • We absolutely dread diaper changes.  If she can't stand up and do her thing, she's not happy.  Sometimes we have to pin her down with both of us as nothing will distract her.  DD started getting really bad at this since about 9 months... yet she lays perfectly still for daycare...

  • i give shane whatever is in reach to play with.  sometimes it's just a diaper or a wipe.  and yes, it's a phase.

  • I try to give him something like my phone or a toy but it doesn't work.  Ditto to what the PP said.  My sitter says he never does this with her LOL go figure!

  • DS does the same! Sometimes toys help, but most of the time he will just throw the toy across the room and then continute to throw a fit. lol

  • Can you do it when he's standing?  Sometimes that is a lot easier.
