I am THRILLED I am having a boy, not bummed that he's not a girl.
I don't know if its just me or not but every time I tell someone I am having a boy they give me the "oh that sucks" look. Or even say "oh I bet you were hoping for a boy?"
I want to slap them and say "No, actually i'm thrilled and I am thankful that he is healthy!!" Why would people assume that it's a bummer when you are having a boy? A child is a blessing, no matter the sex!
Even before we found out and people would ask what I "wanted" my answer was always, "A healthy baby..."
It's just been bothering me..rant over!
haha
Re: Lets set the record straight....
I hear ya.
I actually know a guy who wouldn't speak to his pregnant wife for a week after they found out they were having a girl rather than a boy. FTS.
This is one of the saddest things I've ever heard. He knows that the sperm determines gender, right?
I've heard the opposite, when we said it's a girl, lots of people would say "oh, is (husband) ok with that?" Yes, he is thrilled we are having a baby, and won't send this one back because you assume he wanted a boy first.
I know exactly how you feel, well kind of, i don't know what I'm having yet..
BUT I hate people constantly asking "what do you want boy or girl?"
I always answer I want a healthy baby, i don't prefer one over the other, because I know I will love this little bean no matter what gender he/she is...
Ugh Its irks me when people asking what i would rather have..
I know how you feel. I already have a boy and I've had people tell me they're hoping/praying for a girl. Ummm I'm just praying for a healthy baby. Honestly I would LOVE to have another boy.
