I've been putting off finding a pediatrician and now my ob asks me at every visit and I guess I need to stop procrastinating and look into it! There are soooo many, especially around st. vincent's, which is great, but overwhelming. I'd love any recommendations, I don't care about gender and I can look up the insurance and all, just let me know if you have someone you love (and it would be great if they support breastfeeding and all that good stuff). Also, it's hard to tell what kind of office hours are good. Do you notice that you need appts outstide of the normal hours frequently and so it's a really big deal to find someone with weekend hours for instance? Or it's not really necessary??
Thanks for any help and recommendations!!!!!!!!!!!
ps, let me know if you do NOT like someone as well (it always helps to make the list shorter! hehe thanx!)
Re: westside pediatricians? help please :)
We got to Dr Kirsten Crowley at Southwest Pediatrics (in St. Vincent's complex) and love her. I have seen other peds there when she was out, but didn't like them as much.
The only drawback is that they just moved to a smaller office in that building and I am wondering how the waiting room is going to work... it seems tiny.
They have Saturday appts for sicks kiddos and always return my calls promptly if its after hours and I need to talk to someone.
GL!
We see Dr. Crowley too and LOVE her so much. She was a godsend to us when baby got RSV at 5 weeks and I was a wreck. The new office is nice, but yes the waiting room is pretty small, but the 2 times I've been there so far, it hasn't been an issue. The 1st time I went, I was the only person in the waiting room and the 2nd time, there was just another family (3 people) waiting and it was fine. I think that since there are only 4 doctors in the clinic, the crowded issue the other clinic had has gone away. Oh and we get seen MUCH faster at the new clinic
That being said +1 for Dr. Crowley!
