I went to check the weight requirement for the bouncer seat and noticed it said to not use anymore when baby can sit unsupported. Is this true? Did you pack it away or are you still using it?
I'm assuming it's because they may fall forward while attempting to sit up. Even if they're strapped in, if they throw all their weight forward, they may flip the whole thing over.
Jeez I never even thought of this. I just thought there was a weight limit. I only use it when I am in the shower or to sit right in front of her to play something.
Yes, if a baby can sit up, they will most likely try to lean forward. The whole thing comes with them when they do that!
DS started doing that around 4 months, and literally almost took the whole bouncer forward with him one day. We packed it up that evening.
We bought him the FP infant-to-toddler rocker and that works well. It's made in a way that makes it very difficult for them to flip the chair, and DS had definitely tried more than once. He can lean all the way forward to pick a toy off the floor and the chair doesn't move (the fabric pulls, but the chair stays put). He's actually taken to sitting in it unstrapped and then pulling himself out to stand - obviously when we're there supervising, but I'm just saying they're good for a while, I think it has a 40lb limit.
If you need somewhere to put your LO, I would recommend the I2T rocker chair, or similar. BRU sells them for ~$50 and you can use their coupons for it.

Re: Not supposed to use bouncer when baby can sit?
I used it for a little bit when she was first starting to sit up by herself, but we've packed it away since.
