Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I can't "wear" DD anymore ...

She is officially too heavy as of today.

My back (and the rest of my body) was hurting SO bad while I had her in the front pack today.

I'm sad.   ... now what?!?!?

:(

Re: I can't "wear" DD anymore ...

  • What kind of carrier do you have? We are still going strong with DD in the MT. :)

Aaaaand, did you get my reply to your PM from ages ago?

  • What type of carrier are you using?

  • Get something you can wear on your back?  Front carrying is notoriously hard on the back but back carries distribute the weight much better.  Also, by "front pack" what do you mean?  Some carriers that can be worn in the front distribute weight well.  I wear DD on my front in a Bamberoo SSC, my Ergo, and our woven wraps and she's 20+ pounds.

  • Get a new carrier!  Jake has graduated to the hip hold in the Moby.

The Baby Bjorn   and moby every now and then but I find it to be a PITA.

Ah...I'm surprised you made it this long.  You just need a carrier that better distributes the weight.  An Ergo, Pikkolo or Beco are all good choices for mainstream buckle carriers.  A mei tai would work as well but if you don't want to deal with tying and straps that might be a non-starter for you.

  • Get an Ergo!  It's good for up to 40 pounds!
  • DS is over 22lbs and  carry him in my Ergo all the time, both front carry and back. You may look into getting one of those if you want to continue wearing her. A lot lof babywearers also swear by wovens for older babies/toddlers, I just can't say how they are because I haven't bought one yet.

  • Ditto PP - you need a better carrier! I love my Beco.
  • Okay ... I will look into the ergo and the beco.

    Thanks!
