Question re: "peanut butter poo"

We're about to start solids this weekend, and after six months of glorious water-soluble EBF poo, I'm nervous about what it's going to do to our seamless diaper wash routine.

Can anyone tell me how long the transitional peanut butter poo I've heard tell about lasts? Just wondering what I'm in for here.

Thanks!

Even after a year on solid food, E's poop is totally variable. Some days, totally formed and can be dropped in the toilet w/no problems. Other days, totally smushy and peanutbuttery and can't be dropped into the toilet. Sorry, I know that's not helpful, but it's REALLY hard to predict poop. I should make a tshirt that says taht.

Exactly this.  My son is almost 2 (June) and I just had a peanut butter mixed with fruit chunk diaper about an hour ago.  Sorry, but it's not to solid all that quick.  If we go light on fruit, and heavy on cheese I can get more nice roll out ones, but my kids love their fruit!

Haha, I would totally buy a t-shirt that says that. Who wouldn't?

  • DS still has a variety of poop textures too. (That's just gross to write out) And like PP, it all depends on how much fruit he eats.  Just a heads up if you give your LO mandarin oranges, the little segments break into smaller little segments and look like polyps or something in the poop.  I had a minor heart attack that there was something wrong with DS's bowels once because of the oranges.  I felt pretty dumb when upon closer inspection, (ew!) it was just pieces of orange...

Why is that as parents we become so invested in poop???

  • Noel has never had ploppable poop and he's 2.5. Not. Fun.

It really varies so much for everyone.
