Fun NBR clicky waiting inside!

Back story:  We have an empty small bedroom on the 2nd floor which was going to be turned into DH's office.  He uses his basement man cave/family room as his office (sits in the recliner with his laptop) and we can put some filing cabinets down there too.  The empty bedroom is almost across from our bedroom.  We have a large closet/laundry room already.  We have a guest room in the finished part of the basement but the 2nd full bathroom is on the 2nd floor and there isn't a bathroom in the basement yet, but there is a 1/2 bath on the main floor.

So, what should the upstairs bedroom be made into?

  • What about making it into an office with a pullout couch or nice futon?  (like one of the wood frame ones).  Then you would have a guest room, and an office, with the extra spot for someone to sleep in case you had more than 1 person/couple visiting.

  • My dream is to have a huge closet/dressing room complete with 3 way mirror, a bench in the centre of the room, and a big sparkly chandelier so that is what I would do!

  • I would totally make it into a dressing room.  Before Hurricane Katrina (and well before DH and I got married and were even considering a baby) we had a spare room directly next to our master bedroom - we used it as a closet/dressing room.  Our dressers were in there, we removed the closet doors for the actual closet that was there and just put up clothing rods across two of the walls.  There were shelves and mirrors and even tho most days it was a MESS - because neither of us ever kept up with laundry - I loooved having that space.  I was planning to get a vanity and set up a corner as my own little makeup space when the storm hit.  After the hurricane we remodeled and realized that we would need the space for a nursery eventually and turned it back into a normal bedroom.  Now all of our clothing is packed rediculously into our tiny master closet.  Boo.
