Anyone ever "interview" an OB when choosing a new one?

Since we moved, I am considering my OB if I get pg again.  I love my OB and the hospital but don't know if I want to travel the 50 minute drive.

I am high risk and would have to go to a new hospital if I switched to the new OB.  I have an appointment today to meet her for an "interview".  I am not sure what to ask.  Anyone interview a new OB...what did you ask?

Re: Anyone ever "interview" an OB when choosing a new one?

  • Yes, twice.  It made me feel so much more confident in my choice b/c I'm high risk too.

I described my complications/history and asked really specific questions.

Ex.  When is first ob appt scheduled? (I have to be seen by 8 weeks)

Do you do u/s to confirm pregnancy?

Where is the MFM dr you work with located, how much will you two communicate about me?

When will the c/s be scheduled for, who will be performing it?

Just think of the things that you are most concerned about based on your history.
