Hello ladies! DH and I just found out that we're finally pregnant! We just need to make it to 12 weeks now.

We have had the names David Scott (after family) and Evangeline Lily picked out for years-  that is until we recently found out that the beautiful actress "Kate" from Lost real name is Evangeline Lily.

Any suggestions on new middle names for Evangeline? We were even considering Evangeline Noelle, because we are expecting a Christmas baby(I know there was discussion about this earlier). Thanks for any and all help. I need some new ideas!

    No sisters or aunts. Mom and grandma's names are Barbie. Ek! Lol :)

    Oh my. Well okay...what about grandmother's names? Maiden names? Grandpa's names? If Scott is a last name, you could use that for Evangeline. I'd go with a 1 syllable...I do like family names/maiden names as mns for girls though!

    It is my opinion that Evangeline Lily from LOST is a has been and once this season wraps up we aren't going to see any more of her.

    I totally agree with you on changing the middle name! I'm sorry to say that I don't think the "N" sound at the end of Evangeline and at the beginning of Noelle go together. It will run together and seem like one name, or  it will force you to pause between them, and sound weird.

    I wish I had a better suggestion for you, but I don't like suggesting middle names, because they are always the same ones (Rose, Mae, Nicole, etc.)You've picked out some really beautiful names so far, I'm sure you'll think of another one. Cool

    I'm thinking the same thing! I've never been a big fan but DH likes Noelle. Thanks for the input. I'll have to keep brainstorming!

    Agreed. I wouldn't change the name.

    FWIW, the actress Evangeline etc. was actually born with the name Nicole Evangeline Lilly.  Like pp have said, I wouldn't worry about it if you like the name.  No one is going to know who she is by the time your LO will be around to care.  Love both of your names.

    Go with your original name.  Evangeline Lilly will never work after Lost.  Once the show is over, people will forget about her.  When actors and actresses are in a big-time role, they rarely get hired again because it's hard for people to think of them as anything but that character.  Kind of like how all of the characters from Seinfeld tried to get new shows and none of them worked out except "Elaine" on the New Adventures of Old Christine.

    I can understand why you would want to change it.

    The girl's name I have loved for years is the name of a VERY famous couple's daughter. I decided to get over it, though, if someone says "Isn't that _________'s kid's name?" I'll just say something like, "Yeah, it is. Isn't your daughter's name Ashley? So did you name her after Ashley Tisdale, or Ashlee Simpson?" ;-)

     

    I think Evangeline Lily is beautiful, and if you've both loved it for years, go for it.
