Dash post surgery update

and Mary Bridge rave! We arrived at MBCH around 6am and the nursing staff was ready to greet us. They got him checked in and did all the pre-op stuff, then on schedule we talked to our surgery nurse, the anaesteologist (sp?), then our surgeon. Everything was explained so clearly. They took him back right on schedule and he went without a fuss. I totally cried but got it together. We got to the really nice surgery waiting room and watched on a tv as his status changed. They put us in a conference room and our dr came in. Everything went great. His testicle and all pertinent anatomy was preserved with minimal blood loss. The only thing that wasn't 100% was his pain block shot (like an epidural but just a shot). It just was a partial - this was to give him some good pain relief following surgery, not for during surgery. We got to see him just a few minutes after and the recovery room staff was excellent. He nursed there, and had some sugar water to be sure he'd drink, and we moved from there after about fifteen minutes to our pre op room. Dash nursed again and an hour after arriving there we were discharged with his pain meds (Tylenol and motrin). We are home but exhausted. I've been on high stress alert for three days with four hours of sleep last night. Dash seems good, great nursing, sleeping, and even eating some solids. He's such a trooper! Thank you wonderful ladies for thinking of us today. I can't tell you what it means. I'll just have to pay it forward!
