Re: ~*Weekly PG Check-in*~
Huge congrats to all the new mamas. That is a lot of baby girls--someone needs to have a boy now.
I volunteer!
My heart goes out to Jezca and hope we get a report that things have improved soon.
My sister had her baby girl on Monday and it did not go very well. As far as I know, she is still in the NICU with an infection, but we are not terribly worried as she seems to be getting better. It was not a good birth story, unfortunately, but I am a proud and thankful auntie that she is here and okay now.
QOTW: At this point, my DH & I are both thinking we want two children, but you never know. I think I will want to be pregnant again, preferably with our kids being born about 3 years apart, but I also have an interest in foster care, and that could potentially lead to adoption.
I am feeling pretty well most of the time, but had a horrible headache for several hours yesterday. We actually practiced some of the labor pain coping techniques to deal with the nasty headache, but it was very different, since there will be some rest in between contractions and there was none with the whopper headache. It is lingering at a low level today, and I will be so thankful when it's gone. The ongoing, mechanical construction noise right outside my house is certainly not helping.
Getting very excited and trying to wrap up all the preparations. There is still quite a bit to do!
We want 3 kids total. Yes, we both agree on that number. We plan on trying when this one (the one I'm pregnant with) turns 3 or 4. I came from a family of three and it was awesome!
I am feeling awesome! I have pain in my tailbone area every night, but other than that I forget most days that I am even pregnant! It is flying by this time.
CONGRATS to all of the three new mommys!!!
congrats new mamas!
We would like to have 2 children, about 2 years apart in age.
Morning sickness still going strong. Nothing has helped relieve it in the slightest, and my grandmother told me hers lasted the entire pregnancy with her first, which has me terrified that this will be the case with me. Last week we were on a cruise, which was a huge mistake. When we booked a few months back, we had thought I'd be feeling better by now, but obviously that's not the case. I was so sick by the end of the week that I couldn't keep down anything at all or get out of bed. Not a great way to spend a vacation.Congrats to mrs.wildman, Chandley, and JJ&BB1146!
Good thoughts and vibes to JezcaM!
Question of the week: Just two. Nove is it and we both agree.
And as always, how are you feeling today? Uh, what comes after anxious?? I'm having a baby in 3 days and getting incredibly anxious-nervous about it!! Next week at this time, I'll be a mom of 2 under 2. holycow. I have my last prenatal appointment today to check progress again and then the next time I go will be to check in l&d!
So many girls!!!
We want one so we're one and done. DH said before he met me he wanted 3-4 but I don't think he realized how much a child costs. I've only ever wanted one so it made it an easy decision for me. DH doesn't see us having any more so I'm glad he's ok with just Jack.
Congrats to all the new moms!
I am happy...no...ECSTATIC to announce that we are THREE and DONE! : )
I was on the fence when we had 2. I felt like I wanted a 3rd, but couldn't get up the courage to actually execute. Then, I ovulated early. Solved the dilemma right there!
I have never been so sure about anything in my entire life. I feel relief that I don't have to worry about having more kids. This is gonna be it. We can now plan for the future...start saving for college when we can get this third and last one out of full-time daycare. ...Okay...I am a little sad that this is it...on the side of "morbidity" and that I am now closer to death than ever...like, the ability to procreate is the females #1 directive in life, and to "shut the factory down, permanently" is kinda daunting. BUT, being pregnant is high risk for me and I want to be here for my kids so it is so the right decision! (Besides, having anymore kids will put me in the poor-house...sports activities, dance, college, weddings (at least 2), first cars...*beginning to hyperventilate*)
How do I feel? Gosh, I keep going up and down! I had a few good days when I added B12 to my list of pills to take, but then things declined (fatigue). Then I switched PNV's a week later, but I went downhill again (fatigue). So, I feel like I am just gonna be miserable. I need 3 hours to truly get going in the morning after I wake...that's no good as a working mom! My body SCREAMS to go to bed by 7pm. But that is no good either cause I want to play with my kids after school!
Big ultrasound is next Thursday, at which time DH will find out if he has a "partner in crime (boy)" or if he has been "eternally outnumbered (girl)". ha! well, he is already outnumbered...but youknowwhatimean!
Congrats to the new moms! Angie&Doc- I had that same pain in my 1st pregnancy and already have it this time around. It hurts!
DH and I have always said 2 kids, but at this point we're not ruling out #3. We'll see how we do with two and go from there!
I'll be 13 weeks on Saturday, and I've been feeling better- the 24-hour-a-day-nausea is finally gone! I am noticing I have a little bit more energy and general pep in my step-- which is so nice since my 2 year is so energetic. I even bought some real food- fruits, veggies, and meat- at the grocery store this week. DH was getting tired of all the carbs and weird cravings. I will confess that I bought a HUGE jar of dill pickles. That has been a recent craving for me.
We had our NT Scan on Monday, and it went well. The u/s tech said she is 85% sure we're having a boy. We know it is early for a guess, but it will be neat to see if she is correct! Also, my cervix measurement was perfect, so no cerclage needed for me yet!! I go back in for another cervix check in two weeks.
That is a lot of girls!
How many children do you want and do you and DH agree on the number? How soon after this LO arrives will you try for another?
Two or three.. four would be awesome if we had the money.
I wanted to do back to back quite quickly, but to be honest this pregnancy has kicked my a$$. I'm not sure when I'll be motivated to do this again!!! Does that motivation come back like it does on the first one??
How do I feel? As good as anyone can feel still barfing at 31 weeks. Not happy.
QOTW: We have both decided on two a long time ago and at this point, I don't think there is any reason or want to have any more now. I think there are more than enough days where Colton is already enough, so I can't imagine having more than two. I'm ok with the idea of this one being my last and I'm already thinking about having grandkids someday. That will make me happy all over again and I think that is good enough for me!
Things are going pretty good for me right now. I just started going to a wonderful chiropractor and I suggest it for anyone with aches and pains or not! It's a wonderful "maintenance" tool and is much less expensive than I would have imagined it to be and well worth it to me to have a life with little to no ailments and to be able to live a long, happy life is a great feeling! I've also gotten an unofficial "just for fun" gender prediction. There is a neighbor lady/DH's employee's mom who I believe was a nurse for an ob for quite a few years. Somehow in that time she came up with a way to predict the gender by looking at the blood vessels of the eyes and she compares them, whichever she see's as the one with more noticeable blood vessels is the eye which then tells whether it's a boy or girl. She saw more in my left eye, which means it's a boy. She's been about 85% accurate over the years, so we will soon see if she is right, I hope! I'd really like to know what it is already!
Congrats to all the new mommy and lots of positive thoughts headed Jezca's way!
Before getting pregnant we agreed that we would be one and done. I'm still on board with that decision but DH now wants two. We'll cross that bridge when it comes.
How am I feeling? I had a rough weekend but I am feeling better today except for the exhaustion and allergies. I'm usually pretty good dealing as long as I don't feel like I am going to get sick.

Question of the week:
How many children do you want and do you and DH agree on the number? How soon after this LO arrives will you try for another?
We want at least 2 and are in agreement on the number. We'll try and plan the next one 3 years after LO arrives on the scene.
And as always, how are you feeling today?
Fat and crabby DH won't let me eat any more candy.
CONGRATS to the new mamas! Thoughts to those on bedrest.
We're having a surprise baby - so add us to team green.
QOTW: This is the last one I will physically have. We had said 2 originally and I don't want to have more than that. I am interested in adopting or fostering later on though. Our kiddos will be 3.5 years apart. I wasn't ready before then and I'm really happy w/ the age difference.
Updates: All is well. Not much to report. I have my glucse test coming up. I failed it miserably the first time (193) so really, really hoping to pass it this time b/c I don't want to do the 3 hours again.
Congrats to all the new mama's and baby girls!
QOTW: I want two kids, DH wants 3 or more...we'll see. Ultimately our plan is to have them pretty close together in age, approximately two years. My only sibling is 9 years older than I am - which is rough.
Update: I feel fine I guess. We had another ultrasound on Monday and McKenzie looks good - growing right on track with her gestational age. I did fail my 1 hour glucose test, so I get to take the 3 hour on Friday. Fingers, toes, and everything else is crossed that I don't add GD to my pregnancy list.
Congratulations to the new families!!!!
I would love to be added: cls052909, EDD-9/28/10, not sure what we are having yet. We will find out on 4/28 though
QOW:We would love to have 3 kids. Not sure how long we will wait before trying for our next little one. Hopefully 2-3 years.
I had a check up to day and found out I have high blood pressure. This really scares me. I want a healthy pregnancy, birth, and baby. There are a lot of complications that can happen with high blood pressure. I am just going to pray that all goes well. I feel confident my doctor will monitor everything closely though.
I hope everyone enjoys their day!!! I am ready for the weekend.
Congrats to Chandley, mrs.wildman, and JJ&B!!!
Depending on how things go with this LO, we might have 1 more. I probably won't wait as long as I did with this one, but do want to be done by the time I'm 35.
My feet look ridiculous! They are so swollen and hurt like a mofo. I've been trying to keep them elevated, but it really isn't helping that much. Other than walking around with cankles, I feel fabulous!
We have our hospital tour today....I'm excited! My baby shower was last Saturday, it was a blast! It was so good seeing all of my friends. The baby's room is almost finished, just have to hang the pictures. I graduate in 2 weeks....things are definitely going my way;)
Congrats to all the mamas on their new baby girls!
QOTW: When DH and I were dating, we always said we wanted 4. Now that we are actually living as parents, I'm thinking that 3 may be more realistic. We'll see. Ask me again when I'm dealing with two 2 years apart! We'll probably try for a little farther apart next time, but who knows
Update: I am still feeling pretty great, although I'm definitely slowing down. We took DS to the Waco Zoo yesterday and it wore me out! I have to say I'm sleeping much more comfortably since getting the Boppy Pregnancy Wedge. My sides were really hurting at night and that thing helps. It was only like $15 on Amazon, so if any of you are having similar probs, I'd recommend it!
Can I get my screen name changed from Hoyt to this one? Also, I am team green (at least for now!).
I dunno about the number of kids. I think DH will have as many as three if I want to. I am not sure and want to have one before I make plans for more.
I am feeling ok. Sore and tired and upset stomach but really, really glad that I've made it this far.
Congrats to all the new mamas!
QOTW: I want 2 kids, so I want to be done when this one is born. DH might want 3 kids, depending on whether this one is a boy. If it's a boy, he's done, if it's a girl, he might want to try again. I told him I'm done no matter what, but he wants me to at least consider it.
We purposely spaced our kids close together. We started trying when Alessandra was 9 months old, and we got pg right away. I think DH was shocked (and a little disappointed) that it happened so fast. Alessandra will be about 18 months when DC #2 arrives. If we have a third, I'd probably try to space them similarly because we want them to be close in age, which is another reason I am opposed to a third child. I don't think I can handle three kids ages 3 and under. Huge props to all the mamas that do!
Updates: My allergies are kicking my butt, but other than that I feel pretty good.
Congrats to the new mommies, and my thoughts are with you, JezcaM.
Add us to team pink, it's a girl!
Question of the week: We want two, but she might be our only one after all the complications.
And as always, how are you feeling today? Not so great...been put on bedrest due to chronic hypertension, been in the hospital on two different occasions--once for kidney stones and the other for bp monitoring. Meds have been increased, and being on bedrest hasn't helped the bp out much. I have no other symptoms of preeclampsia yet, but that is what they are watching for. Appointment with the peri tomorrow to see if they want to change my meds. Baby consistently checks out great at every appointment despite my bp and the single artery umbilical cord, it just seems I am becoming a inhospitable place for her to grow
. DH has been awesome so far, my swollen feet have gone down considerably, but I'm still getting used to feeling so restricted.
Despite my guess of having a boy (although I really, really wanted a girl), we are TEAM PINK! Hoorah!
Question of the week:
DH and I both want 2 children. We'll probably wait no more than 1 year after LO arrives to try for another. I'll be 38 when this one comes, so I'd like to knock out the 2nd one at 40 at the latest.
And as always, how are you feeling today?
I'm feeling OK. Am still really tired, which I was really hoping would pass when I got into the second tri. But, alas, it has not.
QOTW: We'd like to have two and are thinking about trying for another when this one is about 2, but we'll see if our minds change once she is here
Update: I am started to feel tired and achy. I'm having trouble sleeping and my feet hurt and my body hurts if I am up and about too much, which is hard because I am the type of person who always has to be doing something productive. I can't really complain, though, because it's been a great pregnancy. We've been really busy lately preparing and taking classes. I'm so thankful and excited to be getting close to the end!
