I have my appt set for May 11th. The scheduler said it would take about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. WOW. I'm assuming she's going to take our history, and figure out a plan.
Yep, they will go over your and DH's medical history as well as family medical history. A lot of what my RE explained I already knew (phases of the cycle, what hormone levels change when you O, etc). She then went over all the initial testing we'd need and explained those procedures. I also met with a nurse who went over my insurance coverage and billing policies. GL!

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
My appt. took about an hour. We discussed my history mainly. He told me what tests he would like to do and a nurse gave me instructions on when to schedule those tests.
We filled out the paperwork prior to the appt. We sat with the Dr and went over history etc. then he did an u/s. Lastly tons and tons of bloodwork for me and minimal bloodwork for DH. If I remember correctly it was over 2 hours long.
If you are seeing the same doctor I did the Dr herself called me into the office I sat with her for about 1 hour and went over my blood tests and medical records..then she wrote down the lab tests she wanted to have drawn...she also did and U/S that day and lastly she had them draw an HCG in the office so make sure my level had gone down which it hadn't... they told me 3 hours too but it was more like an hour and half but I think they give the time in case it gets complicated..HTH let me know if you have any more questions

Re: Have RE appt set - what to expect?
For us, we filled out a lot of paperwork, talked with the doctor, she showed us around their office and labs, and then we scheduled blood work.
We also sat down with their payment department, just to go over things.
Good luck!
