Baby-sitter questions
Up until now, I've mostly used my parents for baby-sitting. We have an event to go to with my parents later this month, so we need to get an actual baby-sitter. I got the name of a couple teenage girls in our neighborhood and am going to call them this week. How did you handle getting a baby-sitter for the first time? Did you meet them first and ask them a list of questions? Just curious, thanks!

We did this back when DD was very young so we didn't really know what to ask. But we did get references as well as ask questions. Some additional ones that I've thought of since:
How do you handle crying/discipline?
What would you do if LO gets sick/vomits/wakes up in after going to sleep?
Why do you babysit? I thought about this b/c I used to sit when I was a teenager, and I did it b/c I loved little kids, and thought it was easy to be around them. AND someone would pay me? I think this is better than someone who just needs money for whatever and they aren't old enough to get a job on the books.
