Utensils: When did your LO start feeding themselves?

When did your LO start using a utensil to actually feed themselves (not just giving them a spoon while eating, but actually able to feed themselves)?  How long did it take them to master using a utensil?  Please tell me that DD is well within the "still figuring it out" range.  Ugh, sometimes I feel we're so far behind the curve here!

    You are NOT behind!  I do not remember exactly when it was but I know it was around 2 years old before Abby was consistently and accurately feeding herself with utensils.  I know for sure at your DD's age she was not.

    You should soooo not worry!  I can't remember exactly either, but it was not as young as your LO!

    Layna has just started using a spoon in the last month to feed herself.  She makes a complete mess but some of it ends up in her mouth :)
