I'm a regular on TTGP and just today intro'd on 3T. Let me begin by saying if I don't fit here feel free to flame away and I'll bow out quietly, but I've been lurking and debating so here I go..
We have 1 LO and she is SOOO amazing. We thought we'd wait longer to TTC but she is so great we really want more. With her we got SO lucky, the first cycle I was off BCP, after 9 years, we got our BFP! I did have one c/p 1 year prior to her, but that had been my only issue. She was born in May and in early July I did one Depo shot, and when it came time to do it again (end of Sept) we decided we wanted to TTC, so I didn't do another shot.
With first LO we got lucky and got a BFP by doing EOD for a month. So that is where we started this time also. We did EOD for 2 months and then I started doing OPK's Nov 09'. (I hadn't found the TTGP board yet so knew nothing of charting). I had a "normal" (CD wise) cycle but never got a positive OPK and got AF at expected time Sept/Oct/Nov/& Dec. Started off doing EOD and OPK's again in Dec, found the TTGP board in January, started temping. Then this cycle got super long and I gave up on temping.
My temping side note- I temped for only a couple of weeks but got discouraged by my temps due to my work schedule. I work overnights (13 hrs, I leave the house at 8:30pm and get home around 10am) for 7 days straight, then I am off for 7 days straight and sleep at normal hours. I don't sleep at all for over 24 hours every Monday so those days were fvcked on my chart. So temps were weird and cycle was taking forever so I gave up and decided to wait for AF and start over fresh.
So here I am now at 100+ days. I called Dr at 60 days without AF and he said call back at 12 weeks (CD84) I called at CD81 got in and got a rx for Provera 10mg for 10days. Did that and still nothing. Called back and he said if I got to CD128 to come back for more Provera or wait until I year since Depo and they would do b/w.
Prior to Provera I had brown spotting 1-3x/wk after CD60, but since Provera have only had 1 day of spotting. It was red when I wiped so I did my happy dance about AF coming but that is all there was, just that little bit when I wiped so still no AF (and that was 2 weeks ago).
I do take a PNV and went to a chiropractor yesterday for my hip and long story short he wants to see me three times a week for a month to see if he can help me get AF back. He said it helped with his wife and their TTC journey. IDK, but I figure it can't hurt.
SOOOOO... that is my story, I don't believe I have true IF problems, may just be the Depo. But then I don't understand why I would have 4 AF's after depo and now nothing if it was just the shot. I never know where I fit, but thanks for reading any advice would be appreciated!
Re: My super LONG intro..
A good OB can do a lot for you before going to an RE but you have a lot of theories floating around. And 1 shot of depo can CAN screw you up for a while but not often for this long.
Your doctor sounds like a douchebag - sorry to be critical but when you're being proactive and wanting to be agressive with this and they're blowing you off when you're not bleeding post Provera (which can be a sign of cysts amongst other things)....you NEED a new OB at the very least!
There are a ton of tests you can have to see what's up - you might want to start another post asking for the inital tests ppl have had to get to a DX (diagnosis).
I agree w/everything Sommer said. It is possible still that you don't have IF but you definitely need a new OB who will listen to you b/c something is up (I wouldn't go to an RE just yet b/c it is tricky for insurance to cover it and most insurance won't cover an RE w/o a refferal and/or a year of trying and a good OB will know if it is serious enough to call in an RE). I know some people who had DEPO issues went on birth control pills for a couple of cycles and it helped get their cycles back on track. The bleeding could be cysts. Whatever it is, it sounds like you need some basic diagnostic tests run to figure it out. It sounds like for that to happen you need a better doc!
GL!!!
Thanks so much for your advice! I'm sorry if I offended anyone saying "true/real" IF problems. I had posted an intro similar on 3T board and didn't write IF as my issues, but was told that they didn't believe I had IF issues just difficulty due to depo, and not to say I had true IF issues. I didn't want to seem rude and say that I knew I had IF when I've had no tests. I may or may not, unfortunately I just have NO IDEA what's going on. If that makes any sense at all.
Anyways, thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it and hope I didn't already step on some toes.
