Philadelphia Babies

where oh where to eat with a 7 month old?

dh and I like to go out to eat but a lot of the places we go are not baby friendly (le virtu, l'angolo, melograno etc.)  Where can we go for good food that will be able to accomodate a baby?  All I'm coming up with is los cabalitos on passyunk, I've seen kids in there but not babies, I'm not sure that they have high chairs?  Any ideas in the general s. philly area?

  • monks cafe has high chairs.

if not bring a portable booster, about $30.  if you eat at a an off time (later afternoon or early for dinner), most restaurants should be ok.  my FIL always says if they want your business, they'll accomodate.  You'd be amazed at the places we took our eldest before she was more than a year, really nice places..... they just weren't in philly.

  • We still visit all the same places but tend to go earlier... to avoid crowds and melt downs.

DS gets so much attention from the staff that I enjoy my meal.

  • i brought DD to  lunch at Bridget Foy's on south street. we tend to go out to eat earlier due to her bedtime and the 5pm time works well for going out to dinner with her. we've brought her portable booster seat with us in case a place didn't have high chairs though.
  • adore l'angolo!! we have not been there in ages, sadly.

we took the little guy to pesto for a family dinner and they were accomodating with a highchair and a general fuss over him :) agree that earlier in the day is better. we've learned to aim for more late lunches or early dinners. have you tried Stella yet in town? I heard it is kid friendly and we're thinking of checking it out.
