We just got home last night. DD and I flew 2 weeks ago to AZ to see DH (he is at a school for the army). Anyway I had contemplated not buying her one because we were on Southwest and they will let you bring it on if there is room. Both ways they were oversold. She sat like a CHAMP. Did not get up ONCE in her car seat. She has flown several times already in her life but not since she was 11 months old. She was really awesome even though she had NO nap on the way down (13 hours of travel) and 20 Min nap on the way home yesterday... Anyway it was worth every penny to have her own seat. The best part if you ask her what do we do on a plane.... she says "we sit!"
Oh this device saved my LIFE! I used it on my cheap rolling bag and pushed DD in the stroller.
Re: PSA: If you are going to fly with a toddler buy a seat!
Definitely agree with this advice.
The way I thought about it was, how does T do in the car, in his car seat? (He does great.) How does T do sitting on my lap i.e. at church, reading, whatever? (He does great for 30 seconds.)
Decision made.
They do, but its about $80, the one the OP used is $15! We bought one for an upcoming trip, great to hear that it worked well for you!
That's the thing. DD is the total opposite. Putting her in a carseat is like torture to her. And she does pretty well on my lap. I've flown with her a lot but I've never bought her her own seat. I've flown with her before when the seat next to us was free but she stayed on my lap. What can I say? She's a mama's girl, lol.
