Toronto Babies

Has anyone taken LO to "Baby Time" @ the library?

The library branch near me has a Baby Time story hour that I'm thinking of taking Dylan to. But you have to pre-register for a spot (it's free, but you have to commit to going in advance). Not sure if I'd be able to decide in advance if I'm going - it would have to be a last minute decision if he's having a good day or not. I wouldn't want to be the woman there with the screaming baby (though I'm sure that happens all the time)

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone's done this - was it good? Did your LO enjoy it?

  • Yes we go to one every Friday. There are babies as young as 1 month all the way up to 1 year. They all really seem to enjoy it, there is singing and dancing and some short stories with puppets, etc. Try it, if you don't like it, don't go back until he is older.

  • We loved it, we really should sign up for the next session.  Its very baby friendly so don't worry about your LO crying.  You can just get up and bounce, or walkout in the hall, or once I had to nurse the whole time when she was 2 months old. We sing some of the songs we learned everyday.

ETA Our branch has a preregistration too but it really is a drop in program, you don't have to go every week.  Many branches don't require signing up if that makes you more confortable.

  • Cool, thanks ladies! I'm going to look into it. I think it would be fun.
