Success after IF

Anyone else really unmotivated? What to do?

I am in my tenth week and I am so unmotivated, tired, I feel fat and I have a ton of housework to do. And here I am sitting on the couch, thinking about what I can eat next. I do go to work all week, and I am just so tired! What do you ladies do to get motivated!? I know in the first tri I am supposed to be tired, but, come on already!

Re: Anyone else really unmotivated? What to do?

  • I say don't push yourself.  Your body is doing a lot of work just growing a baby, plus you're working all week.  When you're tired, rest.  I tried pushing myself on the weekends in the beginning and quickly learned that lead to a sick day during the next week.  Take it easy - you've earned it!

  • I have a house of cleaning to d0 .. ..6 chapters for school to read....quiz mon and wed!!!!!! and a mock idea of a centerpiece for a meeting Tues afternoon and can not get off this effing computer because its like soooooooo much to wrap my brain around!!!!!!!! I have to g00000000000 going............. almosTTTTTTuPPPPPPPPPP hahahahhha In first tri I was just mush! barely got it together enough for a dinner......
  • I'm a couple weeks behind you and it is noon and I have done nothing today but eat and watch TV, and I am not planning to accomplish much.  Later on, I will do a load of laundry and clean the bathrooms, and if I can get that done before I go to bed, I will call this day a success.

I agree - don't push yourself.  Set a small goal to make yourself feel better, and then relax and enjoy :-)

  • I remember being so tired in my first tri I couldn't sleep enough.I was like a zombie. You body is working so hard to multiply those cells... As a mom now I SAY SLEEP WHILE YOU CAN!!! :)  GL

  • My thoughts?

    ENJOY IT!!!!!

I know it's stressful to procrastinate but your days of lounging around and vegging out are numbered.

Put on some comfy slippers, fix yourself a cup of hot tea, grab a good book or newspaper, and relax!!!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • Enjoy the laziness in the first trimester.. sleep.. eat.. etc.  I was SO exhausted the entire first trimester.  I work full time too and by the time I got home from work all I wanted to do was eat something and pass out on the couch which is exactly what I did.  There's plenty of time for motivation later. Just wait until your 3rd trimester when you can't get comfortable and it's harder to sleep.. you'll be missing that first trimester. lol
