Was your son circumcised at the hospital - who performed the circumcision?

I am having my baby at Mission Hospital and I met with a pediatric group in Tustin who said they are not trained to do circumcisions, and my OB said he does not do them either.  I really want it done at the hospital and I found another group of peds in Aliso Viejo who do perform them there.  What did you do?

    My son was circumcised at the hospital right before we checked out and the OB did the circumcision.

    normally circumcision is performed in the Hosp. by the OB who is your OB I am also delivering at Mission Hospital and I work for them too except in a separate facility where outpatient surgeries are performed. Urologists also perform circumcisions, you can look for a urologist who does Peds. too!

    Our pediatrician performed it. I think it was done the 2nd day of our stay. We had friends who had it done a few weeks after their son was born because they gave birth at a birthing center and didn't perform them there. I believe they had a moyl do it.

    Good post, I didnt even think about this just figuered it would get taken care of based on my request. Going to ask my OB at next appointment.

    I think at Hoag the Peds do them.  The on-call Ped did Max's and did a great job.

    The pedi's that do rounds are the ones that do them at Saddleback, unless you have your own and they have privledges there.  That's how it worked for us anyway.

    My LO was discharged on a Saturday from CHOC. They do not do circumcisions at CHOC and said to get a doctor to do it on a Saturday would be $350 and not covered by insurance. So I waited and had my OB do it about a week later in the office. It cost $26 because it was covered by insurance. Our pediatrician also offered to do it in the office for the same price but we would have had to wait longer since he didn't have appointments available right away.

    My Ob would have done it at, however she was on vacation later the same day my son was born..........so her/my OB sub did it instead.

    My pedi did not do them in hospital.
