3rd Trimester

Question for those 30 wks or more...

Does your belly continue to "pop" quite a bit after this point?  I'm 29 weeks and everyone keeps telling me how small I look.  I measure normal according to my doctor, but I'm sick of all the comments!  Just wondering how much more growth to expect.

Re: Question for those 30 wks or more...

  • You will grow a lot more! At 29 weeks I barely looked pregnant at all...now I have a huge belly protrusion!

  • I left work Thursday, came back on Monday and everyone commented on how much bigger I was since Thurs. I felt bigger too. I was being told I was tiny too.  Baby does grow and shift position though so it does keep happening

  • I can tell you that I didn't get a ton bigger w/ DS after 30 weeks.  A little bit...but not too, too much.

  • btwn 30 and 39 wks I grew A LOT. dont worry, you wont get those comments for long. plus people have differing opinions on whats small and big. I had two people tell me how small/HUGE i looked in the same day...go figures.

  • yes it will continue to pop, i was like you, people would always say I was too small but now people are saying I look too big or asked if i was having twins...All these comments are pretty annoying

so dont worry, as long as ur doc said ur fine...your fineSmile

  • I saw a friend today that I saw a week ago, and he commented that I looked a lot bigger in just one week.  I have a feeling I'll continue to be amazed at how much bigger I can actually get before LO gets here.

  • In the past couple of weeks I have gotten a lot bigger, and still have four weeks to go. At 30 weeks everything still fit me fine, now my mat jeans are very uncomfortable and most of my PP shirts are too short. Oh, not that this is related to my belly, but my shoes don't fit anymore either.  You still have some growing to do!
  • expect to get bigger.. i measure 31 weeks and people say i look small.. o well. Im just not looking forward to getting bigger... it always seems greener on the otherside with being pregnant.
  • I had people commented me on how small my bump was before, it's up to my 31 weeks, I was so worried and I mentioned it to my doc, but she told me that my measurement was on tract and nothing to worry about.

Now, people will say that my bump is huge.

Don't worry your bump will grow and don't listen to what people said, as long as your doc said your bump measurement is on track.

  • It will definitely pop a lot more. I actually was being told how small my belly was at 30 weeks and just the last two weeks or so it has totally popped. I feel huge now and have been told it will only get bigger. This is when the baby is doing all of his fattening up and growing. Ignore the comments, people are stupid.

  • I remember with DD's pg I felt each week that I couldn't possibly get bigger. I'd go into my OB apts saying things like "wouldya just look at me, I'm huuuuge! is this normal??!" lol

Yeah, by the time I had her and I looked at some pics from a few days before that I felt sheepish :)

I'm 35wks and again can't imagine getting bigger this time either but I also know that these last few weeks are ALL about the baby putting on weight and fat layers and whatnot so his 5ish lb status can reach a good 7-8ish lbs by birth.

  • Oh you'll pop. Don't worry about that. I can show you pictures of me at 31 weeks then 33 weeks and it looks like my belly grew out an inch already. Just wait, everyone is different.

And when you do pop out and are completely uncomfortable, then you'll appreciate being small. Your time will come....

  • Oh yeah...you're gonna get bigger whether you want to or not.
  • Most definitely!  My belly is showing no signs of slowing down.
