just have to vent--sick baby and such

So, I just have to vent for a minute. I hate that L is sick this week. It is such a crappy time for him to get sick. He has a fever and we can't bring him back to daycare until he's been fever free for 24 hours. So, normally I wouldn't care and I would take time from work. But the Prom is this weekend, and I am the class sponsor and it is something the parents and I have been working towards for 2 1/2 years with fundraising and planning. There's just so much stuff that I wouldn't even know where to begin to explain to another person where it is or what the plan for it is. It's been hard this week to make sure everything is finalized with having to quickly get sub plans ready during class and take the rest of the day off. DH has been great and today (and tomorrow) he's done a half day with me so I can go back to work and teach and do prom stuff. Well, unfortunately, there is no way I can take Friday off as we are starting set up. DH says there is no way that he take any day off from his week--Thursday or Friday. It's just frustrating.
I just want LO to get better. I am just venting because it is a sucky week for him to get sick. If it were next week I would gladly miss work all week.

I'm sorry. Having a sick baby SUCKS! Hopefully he will be fever free in time for you to go to work on Friday.
Side note, I feel ya on the sub plans. My first year teaching I was in a car accident on the way to school the second day of school. I had to call the school secretary from the middle of HWY 79 and give her some sub plans on the fly. It was not one of my finer moments.
