  They gave me the drink so that I could drink it at home so my instructions were to drink it within 5 minutes and then arrive at the office 45 minutes later (15 minutes before my appt).  I had no restrictions on food except that once I drank it I couldnt eat or drink anything except water.

  chill it, and chug it down so your test is drawn 60 minutes after you drink it. (at least that's the norm)

  I was told I could eat a little something like toast with butter the morning of. I had to drink half of the drink which I did on the way there. I had to drink it in 5 minutes. Good Luck!

  Can I butt in with a follow-up question?
  Why didn't my doc give me the drink to tak home?  I have to fast from midnight until my 9am appointment (on what would otherwise be a school holiday), get the drink at their office and then wait the hour in their waiting room.
  Drinking it and then coming in seems like a MUCH better scenario!
