I am going to see my Dr for a, hopefully final, beta draw on Thursday so I will ask him then but I just wanted to get your opinion.
He told me I had to wait one real cycle before I could start trying again. Now, here's where I'm slightly confused. Before I start the injections I have to do one month of BCP to suppress my ovaries, then I get my period, and on the 3rd day I start the injections. So would you think that I have to go through an entire cycle of doing nothing and then my period after that start the BCP (basically waiting 2 periods) or would you think that meant I could start my BCP when I get my next real period (because really I can't start trying until the period after I stop the BCP).
Like I said, I'll ask my Dr this week but I was just wondering if I'm the only one confused by this.
Re: How would you understand this?
He didn't really say, I think a lot has to do with calculating if you do get pregnant. With my first m/c I was told to wait until one real period before trying so I wasn't really surprised by it.
The first time, I was only doing clomid so it was more obvious to me that I would be doing nothing the first cycle after the m/c. What you said makes sense, though. It probably is really 2 periods after that I start would start BCP.
I see it as doing the BCPs this cycle and when you get your period after the BCPs is when you can start the injections. That's how I read it.
I had to do a cycle of BCPs recently too...GL to you!!
Well now I'm confused again!!! LOL
P.S. I HOPE he means I can start BCP when I get my period..times a wastin!!!
Sorry...I wasn't much help in deciphering that....and I feel for ya with how confusing this all is. I hope he means that you can start BCP soon, this cycle!
Well if that isn't just clear as mud! This is exactly my question for the doctor on Monday - when you say one cycle (assuming he says one cycle) does that means it's go time as soon as I get my first period?
I would interpret this as you wait one cycle then start BCP, then you start injectibles after the first BCP cycle. Not what you want to hear but also - I'm a banker so what the heck do I know.
It seems that we're both in a very similar situation. I also just had a m/c at the end of March. Of course, when I went in to see my RE, I expressed how anxious I was to start the next cycle...........like, couldn't we just count the m/c bleeding as AF and start on CD3 with a new round of injections???
Of course, she explained how my body needed some time to recover and go back to thinking it wasn't pg........that I'd need to let my hormones level out before restarting a new cycle.
BUT, she also put me on BCP exactly one week after we confirmed the m/c and she is only letting me take it for 2 weeks so I get AF earlier and therefore do not waste a whole cycle waiting to start injections! I was really excited about this! So, to answer your question, no, I do not think you need to do one cycle on BCP and then another natural cycle before starting again. I think you can start on CD3 after you get your AF with the BCP. Of course, I would still ask your dr. as each case is different.
BTW, I'm also going in for a final beta tomorrow just to confirm that my beta has completely zeroed out. Crossing my fingers for both of us that we can begin our next cycle soon!!
