Reflux babies- 2 questions

My DS was just put on Zantac, and the dr gave us a sample of enfamil AR. If your baby has reflux, what formula do you use? Also do you get different bottle nipples? I only have newborn nipples and dont know if these will work.

Edit: I meant to say, if you add rice or use a thickened formula, what size nipples do you use?

    We use Similac Sensitive RS - but that's because LO was spitting up so much she wasnt gaining weight!!! And yes.. we had to go the #2 nipple on the Dr. Brown bottles.. on the drop ins tho.. we are still on the #1...

    We just started adding rice yesterday. The zantac helped for a few days but then the spitting up resumed. Since he started the rice cereal, he hasn't spit up at all. We were still able to use level 1 nipples, but it took forever and he seemed annoyed, so I just went out and bought level 2s during my lunch break.

    I EBF but when we do give DS bottles of pumped milk I use Tommee Tippee bottles. They have one that is colic+ and works like a Dr. Brown's.

    how much rice are you adding per oz?? im thinking about just going to the sensitive and adding my own rice!!!

    A teaspoon per ounce of formula.

    Good to know- thanks ladies! We're using dr brown bottles, so I'll go get some level 2 nipples.

    We have DS on Prevacid and Similac Sensitive RS - we use Dr Brown's bottles with level 1 nipples with no issues.  He drinks 5.5 oz at each feeding and does so in approx 20-25 minutes.  Now, if you are adding rice to a regular formula (ours has Rice Starch in it already) then you may have to go up a nipple size in order for it to flow or you can use an exacto knife to slice the hole a bit to make it bigger.
