Where do you buy your maternity clothes?

We do not have many stores that sell maternity clothes.  I go to Target a lot and we also have one Destination Maternity that is 40 miles away from me Sad    We do have an Old Navy but I'm not a fan of their maternity clothes.  Where do you shop for your maternity clothes?

Re: Where do you buy your maternity clothes?

  • If you don't have any close -- shop online!

My faves are gap maternity and pea in the pod.  I did find a few dresses from Old Navy that I like

  • Mostly Gap and Ann Taylor Loft, which are both avail online.
  • Gap and duo maternity also motherhood maternity..
  • There is only one maternity shop that sells plus sizes in my state, so I go there, but also shop on-line. Nothing is out of your reach there.
  • I have been purchasing tops from Motherhood (pants fit weird), and pants from Burlington; gotten several things from friends too. There are small sections at my local Kohls and Target, but nothing worth buying so far; and our ON doesn't carry maternity, don't trust buying things online.

  • I shop at Old Navy, Destination Maternity, Target, and a small boutique near by. I basically shop at any store that sells maternity.

  • Most of it has come from Target and Motherhood Maternity.  My MIL bought me a few things from Belk, they were having a big sale.

I'm scared to buy things online.  I'm too picky on how things fit anyways.

  • I buy all my old navy maternity online.   I only get tops from there though.  I highly recommend ON for tshirts, casual shirts, etc.  Cheap.

  • All my hand-me-down work pants are from Gap Maternity.

Most of my work tops (new and hand-me-down) are from Pea in a Pod or Motherhood.

I have bought 7 tops (casual and work) from Nordstrom.com (you buy online and can return to the store).

I have a few tops and one pair of leggings and yoga pants from Target.

Nordstrom.com is the most customer service friendly since you can return to the store.

Any of my Old Navy hand-me-downs are poorly made and look cheap.

  • I'm not a huge fan of shopping online for clothes when I don't know the brands, but if you normally shop at Gap, I've found their maternity line to be pretty true to pre-pg size.

Gap, ON and Target pretty much make up my wardrobe and MIL bought me a few staple items from Nordstrom.

  • I went to Target and bought a bunch of dresses out of the regular section. I just made sure I tried them all on. I did buy a dress and a few shirts/tanks from the Liz Lang collection at Target. I've also bought two shirts at Motherhood Maternity, but I really don't like them. I think that maternity clothing is way too overpriced so I've tried to avoid buying any and have just tried to get larger sizes in regular clothing.

  • Goodwill and Clothes Mentor (consignment). I am really lucky to live in a really affluent area where most of the rich moms just donate all their barely used clothing. I think the most I have spent on a piece of mat clothing is a $20 pair of work pants because I couldn't find any nice neutral ones used.

  • I don't have much time to shop on the wkdays and I don't like wasting time on it in the weekends, so I've been shopping online. I got 3 pairs of pants from MM online and the shipping was only $6. Sometimes Macy's, Nordstrom, and others offer free shipping both ways so you don't have to worry about it if it doesn't fit.

My mom found some tops for me at Kohl's. I haven't found anything decent at Target, their section is really limited.
If you're not looking for work/professional clothes, try summer dresses (long and short) which are all over now-- I just bought a nice one from NY&Co that's not "maternity" but it works well and I can wear it afterwards too.

  • Ross is a lifesaver!  The closest one to my neck of the woods is still 30 minutes away, but they have a huge materinity section at good prices.
  • I just got a bunch from Destination Maternity that I like MUCH more than Gap or Old Navy stuff.

  • Most of my maternity clothes are from destination maternity. I got a bunch at kohls too and my sister gave me a bunch from Gap. I got a few things here and there too, Target, Old Navy, etc.

that's the beauty of the mail service, you can always return it!

  • I have had the most luck at Kohl's and Burlington Coat Factory. I've also gotten a few things at Motherhood Maternity, Old Navy and JC Penney. And I found out that the Macy's near me has a Maternity section, which I didn't know.

I did NOT like the quality or selection at Sears!!

  • I've gotten almost all of my work pants from Motherhood...the secret belly kind. I really like those a lot. I feel like some of their shirts seem kind of cheap and are way overpriced. Most of the ON stuff I've ordered to wear to work just makes me look bigger than I am...so I either haven't worn it or hope to be able to wear it later on. I really like some of the tops I ordered from Gap's maternity line. I always get all of my mat clothes on sale though because like someone else said...it's usually way overpiced.

I've found that my pre-preg dresses and some flowly shirts actually look better than maternity clothes do!

  • Ross, motherhood maternity, and have you tried thrift stores? depending on the thrift store, they sometimes have great stuff:)
  • On top of what everyone has mentioned above, I actually like JC Penney as well, they have a small selection but it's a nice selection! You can also order online and return to the store if you rather.
  • I LOVE Gap Maternity.  It's expensive, though, but I was in a real funk looking for clothes before I found their clothes.
  • Anything that I wear everyday or for dressup came from A Pea in the Pod.  I also bought a few things online and work pants from Motherhood.  Just because you are pregnant doesn't mean you have to dress in potato sacks and that's how a lot of places seem to style their maternity clothes.  Pea in the Pod can be expensive but if you shop often enough and look online, they have some great sales.
