DS is in a Roundabout and a Roundabout 50. He's going to outgrow the Roundabout RF'ing before I'm ready to turn him around.
I've been considering another RA50, Marathon or a Radian. However Baby Bargains said that the Radian isn't a good seat for RF'ing - so I have a few questions.
What kind of car do you have? Where is the Radian located? Is there room in front of the seat or is the front seat completely pushed forward?
Re: anyone's LO RF'ing in a sunshine kids radian?
We have a Toyota Corolla and a Ford Explorer. We're going to have to play around with the seats and see which fits the best. I'm actually more worried about the Explorer than the Corolla. We've come to terms that the Corolla will just be able to fit me and the 2 kids. I'm only 5'5 and sit with the seat pretty far up anyway so it shouldn't be a problem.
DH however is 6'1 and sits will the seat all the way back. I have no clue how we're going to fit 2 RF'ing seats in there come September. I really want to get a minivan but don't know if it's in the cards just yet.
ohhh this is good to know- DH and I are just about the same heights. Since it's narrow I was hoping to have the radian in the middle and the snug ride behind the passenger.
we have an xtsl. it fits wonderfully in our jeep in any seat. it fits tightly in my chevy cavalier behind the passenger, but our infant seat was tight also. it fits pretty good in the center also. our britax marathon fits better in our car, so we mainly use the radian in the jeep.
it is better for rear facing than the britax. it's low profile and has more leg room. i had a pretty big 2 year old rear facing in our radian the other day. he loved it. there is no way this could could rear face in our britax because he has long long legs.
in our car, the seat didn't have to be pushed up any farther than with the infant seat. yes, it's huge, but it's not as reclined as an infant seat. it does take up more room than other convertibles (ie britax).
the only big problem is that it can be a PITA to install. it's near impossible to install in some cars. i only got the britax because i wanted an easier to move around seat. now that i'm use to and know how it fits, thte installation is easy.

I have a Radian XT rear-facing in the middle seat of my Oldsmobile Intrigue, and it fits OK. I don't drive with the seat too far back, but it's comfortable and I'm 5'8". I love the Radian, though, so I highly recommend it if you can get it in your car.
Do you have a Buy Buy Baby near you? They have the Radians in-stock and will let you take the floor model out to your car to see if it fits before you buy.
We have one about an hour away. I'm planning on going sometime this month anyway so I'll have to test out the Radians while I'm there.
