I went to the hospital last night for cervidil. It was placed at 8 pm. By 10:30 I was having regular mild-moderate contractions. I required some meds to rest (couldn't get comfortable on the L&D bed with contractions and back pain). At 5:30 they took out the cervidil and I was 2.5cm/50% effaced. I showered then at 7:45 am anesthesia put in my epidural. At 8am we started the induction with pitocin. I started to push at 12:30 (my doctor who was off today was at her dentist and barely made it in time!) Morgan arrived into this world at 1:09 pm. She weighed 6lbs 8 oz and was 20 inches long. She arrived exactly at 37 weeks. I was very pleased with her size seeing as DD#1 was a 36 weeker and was only 5lbs 1 oz and 17 inches long.
We r all really happy that she arrived safe, whole, and without any obvious complications. (She still has to be tested for jaundice tomorrow).
That was a great epidural, btw. I had no pain but felt enough pressure to tell when she was about to crown and could push way better than with DD#1 when I felt nothing.
