I need your help. I feel as though everything is going down the $hitter with DS. He is sleeping crappy, he was sleepy for 2 days after his shots and now this spit up drama. It is like a volcano. I switched bottles - from Playtex Drop Ins to Dr. Brown's. That has helped a little.
I have him on the generic (Target) of Enfamil Gentlease. I'm wondering if he needs Similiac Sensitive (isn't that a lactose free one?).
When I mentioned the spit up to the Pedi, he was not worried and really gave me no advice other than he will outgrow it.
It is driving me crazy. It can't be comfortable for DS and I am changing 4+ outfits a day.
I cut down his feedings from 5ozs every 4 hrs to now doing 3 ozs every 2 hrs. I just started that today so I don't know yet if it made a difference. I also keep him upright for 30 minutes and burp him well.
Basically, my only option left is to try a different formula. Can anyone give me advice??
Re: Mamas of spitty babies or ex-spitty babies...
I BF and my baby is the same way. She spits up SO MUCH. She is a happy spitter, though, and it doesn't bother her I'm not too worried right now.
Does he seem to be in discomfort? As annoying as it is I wouldn't worry if he isn't cranky about it and your pedi isn't concerned.

I don't know if its spit up or vomit. It occurs about 20 min after eating. He is really not fussy at all. Today, for the first time, he arched his back about an hour after he ate and then spit up which led me to think reflux. He was fussy at that moment.
I am changing his clothes alot...just because I am sure he is not comfortable in a damp shirt/pants (yes it travels down his body).
He is my first born son.
Ok I was just wondering .. If he isnt really fussy I wouldnt worry about it.. I wasnt thinking your DS would prob be too old for this now..My DS had pyloric stenosis which has to do with his stomach muscles. it is common with first born boys I guess. I am sure its no big deal.. I know he is better now that he had an operation, but he is still a big spitter..I know what you mean having to change them sooo much is really annoying lol. But I prob wouldnt worry about it
I did hear it tapers down around 6-9 months..so hopefully not too much longer
I dont think its pyloric stenosis as its not really projectile. Thanks for the screening though!
Thanks. I need to do this. DS gets frantic every time I take the bottle out of his mouth. He is going to hate this!!
I always keep my eye out..I wish I had of had someone that knew about it. I had never even heard of it..and my poor lil man was so sick. I was to the point I was going through PPD super bad..I called my aunt and said you need to take him for the night because I love him but i dont think I like him.. I felt so bad! He cried from morning to night . But now he is doing so well. So I am always on the lookout. I dont want anyone to not get it checked out. GL with the spiting up
