My baby is almost 3 months old and she's been swaddled in one of those swaddleme blankets since she was just a few days old. I know I need to wein her off the swaddling, but she sleeps so so well at night when she is swaddled. When she isn't swaddled she wakes up every 2 hours or less. Is there anything else I can do to help her sleep at night instead of swaddling? How long did you swaddle your LO for?
Re: When did you stop swaddling?
Ditto this.
We stopped a couple weeks ago b/c DD would frequently break out, and I was worried about suffocation. We switch to sleep sacks (the ones that zip up), and she still sleeps like a champ. I'm a firm believer that your LO will let you know when they are ready. If LO isn't breaking free, I'd leave it.
This!
We stopped from day 1 at home because my baby boy HATES to be restricted. Must be why he kicked the crap out of me from the inside! :-)
I agree with PP though, if you LO is not breaking out and putting themselves into suffocation risk and it is how they sleep best I don't see why you should not continue.
