where to buy nursery furniture?
I am using babies r us for my registry. Do they have the best price for nursery furniture, such as the dresser and crib there? Ikea I hear good things about.... what stores in Philly are you using to purchase your nursery furniture??

We got ours at Norman's www.normansjuvenilefurniture.com in south philly and were so pleased with the quality and service.
I was not impressed with BRU or Ikea for cribs. I have also heard great things about Karl's in cc but that they are very expensive. GL!

I'll definitely check out baby supermart in broomall! What brand did you ladies settle on? Do they carry the regular ones I always hear about (graco, delta, sorelle, etc..)

We found our set at another store (mentioned in this post), but the sales people didnt seem to know anything out the set. So we went to kids and Kribs in wayne and he not only beat the price, he was so excellent at taking care of the details. (Larry, the owner)
Our chair arrived from Best Chairs the wrong color. Larry came out to look at it, it was wrong, he said, keep it until we get the new one! When Lane screwed up the color of our living room furniture, they didnt let us keep it!
My SIL got her stuff there, too, and she was just as happy
My husband and I looked all over to find baby furniture- we ended up at Kids and Kribs. I cannot say enough about how great the quality of furniture and service. They are so nice and sit with you for hours (if needed) to find what you want. They actually know what they are talking about and can answer every question, unlike somewhere like Babies R Us.
We also got a disocunt becuase we bought more than one peice of furniture and Larry included free delivery and set up. The delivery guys are fantastic as well- they set up everything for you!

Oh! I know! the delivery guys are awesome! In fact, they suggested a different room layout. I was going to put the crib on the far wall and one of the guys (father to several kids!) said, I would put it near the door, so you can peek in... and wow, he was SO right!
They do have regular brands. We went with Westwood, the Stratton design. The price was right, quality and reviews were excellent, and the dresser doesn't look like a baby dresser...so it will last.
I got the same set but at Buy Buy Baby. I absolutely love that set. My son has way nicer furniture than us.
OP, I'd read Baby Bargains if you're looking for a place to start. I figured out a couple of sets that I wanted based on their reviews and then found the stores that carried them.
Normans is GREAT! They have excellent quality furniture and higher end brands with the best prices. They delivered and set up our furniture for only $60, well worth the money. I have gone back to them for a high chair and a peg perego stroller. I have gotten higher end items from them that are consistently cheaper than anywhere else.
The kid will definitely have better furniture than us. DH and I still use our dressers we had as kids. Our bed is just on a frame, no headboard. It's really quite sad. I think our room needs to be next.
