So, weird question but we're traveling to Italy for 2 weeks and I'm wondering what others who are traveling overseas are planning on doing for formula. We'll definitely take a lot with us but I'm assuming we won't be able to take enough for the whole 2 weeks. (I'm just now beginning to wean from EBF to formula so I'm not sure how much formula I'll need)
Are you going to buy formula that's available or do you have some other plan??? Does anyone know what kind of formula is sold in Italy because I'd like to get DD used to it before we go.
TIA for any help!
Re: What kind of formula is in Italy?
a small can of formula makes 15 6oz bottles.... so i'm not quite sure why you wouldn't be able to bring enough with you to last 2 weeks esp if you get the bigger cans.
unless you buy the liquid kind then i can see why you wouldn't have room for that!
We went to Belgium to visit family for 1.5 when DD1 was 7 months. I was 1/2 BF 1/2 FF and I brought enough formula to last the whole trip (and some, just in case). I went shopping for baby food w/ my grandma and it was very hard figuring out what was what, even though I speak French and had my grandma there to help me out!
I had also brought enough jars of Earth's Best for solids, and made a lot of my own food for DD while we were there. It was just easier that way then to worry about it. I'm sure it would have been fine to buy everything there that I needed, but I was a bit neurotic w/ DD1

we have brands I've never heard metioned in the bump I use Mellin for example and you shouldn't switch formulas just because (that's what my pedi said)
we went to venezuela for a month a few months ago and took all the formula we needed with us now we are going to mexico and we're doing the same thing
a suggestion: the day you open a can write down the date you did it, and then the day you finish it, do it a couple of times and you'll have a pretty good idea of how long a can will last you
I hope that helps!
