NBR: Recommend your kitty litter

So we have two cats and it seems like recently the tidy cats 24/7 litter has stopped controlling oders like it used to. So can you please recommend the litter you use. I'm desperate for my bathroom to stop smelling like cat pee. TIA!

  • Arm and Hammer.  It's miraculous, I can't smell anything unless DH goes too long btwn changing the litter.

  • I just use the Walmart brand (can't think what it is right now) clumping kitty litter, it seems to work fine. I only have one cat but there is one that is multi-cat specific.

  • Arm & Hammer Multi-Cat.  We've used it since day 1 and never have  problem.

  • i really like swheat scoop. it's made out of wheat so it actually smells pleasant for a little bit. we also have two cats, but you have to scoop it regularly. it's also flushable, which would be good for you if you have the litter box in the bathroom.

  • Fresh Step clay litter - it's got the orange kitty on the front. I absolutely love it when we had our cats and when we move and get our cats back I'll use it again!
  • "World's Best Cat Litter" -- really, it is. It's made from corn and works really well. controls odors too (we also have 2 cats).

  • Feline Pine worked great for us until after a year of using it our male decided he didn't like it anymore.

  • Arm & Hammer Multicat - best I've tried!

  • I can tell you what we use, but it has nothing in it to control odor, so that probably doesn't help you.  We have ours in the basement and clean it regularly.  We use Feline Pine.

Ditto. We've used this kind for years and never had a problem!

  • Up until recently we used Target Brand Crystals but they seem to have stopped making it so now we use Fresh Step Crystals. We like that it absorbs the pee and takes away the smell. Then we just have to scoop out the poop.

  • I like the Everclean brand of cat litter, blue box, you can buy it at petsmart.  It clumps really well (no exploding clumps while you scoop), and I've never had a problem with odor.  I think they have a multi-cat version.

  • Not litter-- but I recommend this Arm and Hammer spray. It comes in a yellow bottle, and you can spray it on whenever, and it helps with the odor-- it's like Febreeze, but safe for litter.
