It's been a wonderfully crazy two weeks, but I really wanted to share my positive story with you GD girls!
I was scheduled for an induction on March 29th and in a desperate attempt to avoid it, I got acupuncture on the 27th. Well, I can't help but think that it worked because my contractions started at 7:45 that evening. I labored at home through the night with contractions staying about 8-10 minutes apart. My mom was flying in the next morning and we were able to pick her up and then headed straight to the hospital because contractions jumped to 3 minutes apart. I arrived at 1:30pm on Sunday and was already 5cm. By the time I got settled in my room, I was 7cm. I quickly got an epidural (heavenly!) and was 9.5cm an hour later. I felt the urge to push shortly after, and she was born 15 minutes later (just 4 short hours after walking into the hospital!). It was overall a very zen and peaceful birth, I couldn't have asked for better. Marlowe's sugars were great (although her poor little heels got all bruised from the testing) and she's been gaining weight like a champ. She was born at 7lbs 8oz and now weighs over 8lbs! As for me, my blood sugar levels are back to normal and I'm down 12 lbs from the day I got pregnant and I was back in my old jeans the day I got home, so the GD diet definitely worked for me!
I wish you all the best in your pregnancies, it's all worth it in the end!

This is a great story! I plan on getting acupuncture done in hopes of avoiding an induction too! Glad to hear it worked for you!
Question- were you diet controlled or on meds?
Congrats mama she is gorgeous!
I was diet controlled, although I almost went on meds at 37 weeks because it got more difficult to maintain good numbers.
