my dd has gotten it several times, really bad. i stop using wipes when it happens and use a baby wash cloth that is a little warm, also let her air dry as much as you can. and i also have a prescription that works great! i even filled the refill so that i would have it on hand. it was kind of expensive, but doctor gave us a coupon that brought the cost down a lot. name of it was vusion.
DS has been getting really bad ones the past few weeks. His daycare teacher suggested A&D ointment and it works really well. DS also went to the pedi recently so they gave us a prescription cream but also seconded A&D. We actually think the A&D works better than the prescription cream.
we use the sensitive skin fragrance free wipes anyway, but definitely switch if you haven't already.
sensicare was what the nicu at tch used and we did for a while. otherwise boudreaux's is great.
our pediatrician also gave us a prescription for some stuff that has to be mixed at the pharmacy (name totally escaping me, sorry) that works wonders.
We use Dr. Smith's cream and it works really well.
Ditto Dr.Smith's - KelleyA recommended it and it works like magic. DD had bad diaper rash when we got home from the hospital from some foods I was eating and it was gone within 24 hours of using Dr. Smiths. That stuff rocks. You have to get it at the pharmacy (at Target anyway) but you don't need a prescription.
The pedi gave us a rx for bactroban when DS had a horrible diaper rash. Triple paste, Desitin, Boudreaux's all didn't touch it and the rx got rid of it within a day. Trying to remember now, but there was a post on the SAIF board a while back about this and one of the posters recommended equal amounts of 3 things - anti-fungal cream, hydrocortisone cream, and can't remember what else with a splash of Maalox. It sounded like a great combination for diaper rash. I'll see if I can find the post.
After 2 years and 6 IUIs, we did it with IVF w/ ICSI!
BFP with no treatment!

Ditto Dr. Smith's. I had never heard of it until the actual Dr. Smith's family member from our church gave it to us as for a baby gift along with a paper that explained the history of the diaper cream--how funny is that!?!
Best part is that it works great! DD has never had a full on rash. As soon as it looks even a little pink, I use a little bit of this cream and it goes away immediately.
p.s. I'm sad I didn't see you leave from J's party--I had those diapers for you~

Ditto this. Make sure the active ingredient (can't think off the top of my head what it is) is 40%.

Found it (our Pedi's nurse also told us to use Maalox for diaper rash):
Happy Hiney
Equal parts:
Desitin
Hydrocortisone cream
Anti-fungal cream (e.g. Lotrimin)
Splash of Maalox
My pedi gave me this recipe and it works like a charm.
