formula for gassy babies

Currently I am using the Walmart brand formula. I used it with my first son and had no problems. My new LO is extremely gassy and fussy. I am thinking it might be the formula. I have been using the gripe water to try and alleviate some of the gas but it doesn't seem to be working.  What are some of the formulas that you use for your gassy babies? TIA

Re: formula for gassy babies

  • we're using nutramigen right now...expensive/smelly, but works well - in a week or so I'm going to try simulac soy
  • Loading the player...
  • at first we were using similac isomil advance which is for fussy - gassy babies.... that being said - it still upset DS stomach and he was still very gassy (but i think it all depends on your LO)  and we are now using similac sensitive and that seems to be working so much better.

my LO only gets formula at night

  • We use the Enfamil Lipil Premium - it is the no mix canned formula.  If she does get gassy we add Mylocon to her formula and it seems to work.
  • We were also on the Similac Advanced and she was very uncomfortable so we switched to Similac Sensitive and she has been much better.  We also use Little Tummies Gas Relief Drops on really bad days and they seem to help as well.
  • Target brand Gentlease with Target brand Mylicon.
  • We had the same problem with our little one. Even her BM were not right. So we switched her to Enfamil A+ for fussy and gassy babies and that worked like a charm. Its pricey though...
  • We started with Similac Advance and DD was miserable.  We switched to Good Start Protect Plus and she is so much happier.  Less gassy and fussy.
