3rd Trimester

If LO is measuring big and earlier then thought??

Do they move your due date up? Found out today LO is measuring 2.5 weeks ahead and weighs 5.5 pounds already...just trying to prepare myself for maybe delievering 2.5 weeks earlier then I thought.......will they move my due date up or just leave it?

  • They leave it..I'm measuring 2 weeks ahead and at my 30wk ultrasound she was running 4lbs 4 oz.. The midwife just said she MIGHT come earlier..however if I dont labor by 39 weeks theyll offer to induce..but they said they arent changing my date,

  • They will not move it. Due dates via ultrasound are really only credible in the first trimester (esp 8-10w).

This is exactly what I was told, although it sounds like not all doctors follow this rule.

  • LO was measuring 6lb 11oz at my 36 week appointment and 2 weeks ahead.  I'm still hanging in there and hoping she arrives soon.

    Hang in there!

  • I was measuring 4 weeks ahead at 32 weeks but it was more due to his position. We had an ultrasound at 34 weeks and he was measuring in the 55th percentile.

No, they typically won't change your due date.  Depending on how the baby is laying at any given time, you'll measure differently.  Now I'm only measuring 1 week ahead.

  • I was told that at my last appt- LO was measuring 2 weeks ahead, and we have an u/s scheduled to kind of see why. Based on that, my Dr. said they probably won't change my due date, but they may do another u/s at 37-38 weeks and if LO is still large, they will look into inducing around that time (at 39 weeks if everything looks good on u/s)
  • My Dr. moved my due date!! At 28 weeks the baby was measuring at 33 weeks! They moved my due date from May 20th to May 4th!! So yes they will move it!

  • Baby was measuring 2 weeks ahead at my last u/s and they didn't change the due date.
