Birth announcements?

Is everyone doing these? Am I missing out if I don't?

    It's something all my cousins have done so I just figured I would too. Plus we have a lot of friends and family who live far away so it makes sense for us.

    I haven't thought about it yet, but we probably will because DH's family lives across the country.  If we do, I think we will just order photo greeting cards.  They have really cute ones on kodakgallery.com and they're super easy to make.

    Us too.... Most of our family lives quite far away, so we'll likely do a photo greeting card to share some of baby's first pictures.  I plan to do them on snapfish or something similar.

    We didn't for DS and I don't plan to with this one either. I really don't need another expense or thing that needs to be done right after having the baby.

    for a shower gift my mom made hand stamped birth announcement cards for me to use as thank you cards/birth announcements.  if she hadn't have made them i doubt i would have done any, but i like the idea of combining the thank you card with the birth announcement.  i'm sure some people will think it is bad ettiquite but i think it's a good idea!

    That's a good idea, like wedding thank yous with the picture in them.
