xp: random, fleeting lower abdominal pain

The past few days I've had a new discomfort/pain that I'm trying to figure out.The pain is located at my pubic hair line, just under my belly and a little to the left of center. It comes randomly maybe 30 times a day but only lasts for a second or two and is as intense as someone grabbing your arm roughly for a moment. It's in the same spot every time. I'm thinking that it probably has something to do with the baby moving around since it only lasts a second and is then gone. It doesn't seem to coincide with kicks though.it feels complete different from round ligament pain (I know all about that. :) RLP is lower and more intense for me). It also feels different than cramping or 'stretching' feeling I get when I'm growing. If the pain were lasting longer or taking my breath away with intensity I'd call my doctor right away but right now it's more annoying and confusing than anything else. Anyone else know what I'm talking about at all?

  • Sounds like you're pulling a ligament?

  • I have it too and have had it for a while now.  It almost feels like a pulled muscle but very painful.  I notice it every time I stand up from a sitting or lying position or when I turn over in bed.  I mentioned it to my OB and she said its normal, didn't say if it's called anything though.

I get that too and it feels different. This happens when I'm sitting around doing nothing, which is why I think it might have something to do with the baby moving in there?

  • I had that same exact pain! I tore a ligament from getting up out of bed in the middle of the night.

I had my OB check it out at my last appt and he said to do a warm compress in that area and do some streches....sit Indian style on the bed with your back supported by the headboard, then with your back straight, gently push down on your knees...not in a rocking motion but I just push down to where I feel the stretch, hold it, count to 10, then release. I do a couple reps.  It really seems to help! GL!

  • Thanks! I'll try it.
