Anyone have level II u/s at Abbott NW?

I found out today that there might be problems with LO's heart and I need to have a level II u/s. I have an appointment at ANW on Tues. I'm wondering if it is an u/s tech doing the u/s or if I will see a peri too. I was originally supposed to have my 20 week u/s on tues at my regular clinic and was planning on finding out the gender but we had to cancel that one and just do the level II. I don't think the u/s tech will tell me the gender.

I know that they will send the results to my regualr doc but I don't want to wait a lond time to find out if there is in fact a heart problem and I would also like to know if its a boy or girl soon.

I hope that I can just see the peri while I'm there b/c I think that I'llbe able to get the answers that I need.

I know that finding out the gender is no dib deal compared to everything else going on but I guess I'm chosing to focus on that to keep my mind from freaking out about the bigger things.

So if you've had a level II at ANW or at United can you tell me how it went and what the appointment was like. TIA!

  • I haven't had one there but I had many level 2 while pregnant. There was a tech for the first and then the peri would meet with us each time afterwards.

Oh and I'm sure the tech will tell you the gender if you ask. They are very helpful.

  • They will tell you.  You will most likely see the tech and then the peri afterwards.  The Peri actually did another "look" too and confirmed what the tech saw.
  • I went there (the clinic within Abbott), we had to have weekly ultrasounds for quite a while because I got Parvovirus while I was pregnant, and the tech would always do the u/s and then we'd always see a peri afterwards to talk to us.

  • I also had a level II u/s at Abbott.  One with my lest pregnancy and again just a week ago.  Like the others said the tech with look over everything and then the doctor will also come in too look and talk.  When we had problems in our first pregnancy we also met with a genetic counselor who was able to answer a lot of question and seemed to have more time than the doctor.

Good Luck, I hope you get great results!
