I bought a BG 3.0 dipe and got my free AIO the other day. Love the micro fleece inside and they fit DS perfectly! Question I have with the 3.0 is whether I can reuse it after DS pees in it? If so, what type of insert do I use? Does it have to be the BG microfleece or can I stuff it with something else?
Excuse my ignorance, I'm a pf and cover gal so this is all new to me!
Re: BG 3.0 question
OK, got it. I was confused because it said "reusable" on the packing but it's really not.... If he can only wear it once, how many AIO's does it take to build up a stash?
Thanks
Definitely wash it after each use! The pee gets on the actual liner before it gets to the insert, so the whole thing is soiled.
You can stuff the pocket with whatever works for you. For us, it was the MF inserts until five months, then we switched to hemp. Right now we have the MF doubler and a little hemp insert for during the day and a babykicks prefold for at night. We never have leaks unless we go crazy long between changes.
You are talking about the BG 3.0 one size diapers, right? Those aren't true AIOs, but pockets. The BG Organics are AIO-where the liner is attached to the actual dipe.
We have 37 of the 3.0 and I wash about every 3 days now that DS is a bit older. It used to be less time in between washes, 1-2 days. It really depends on how often you want to wash. I'd say try to get 24 at the least! Good luck with the BG's - we have both the One Size and the Organics and love them both!!
I would say it depends on why you're using a liner... is it to keep baby dry or for poop?
The BG diapers have a stay-dry liner in them, so you wouldn't need a liner on top of that. But... if you don't want it to get soiled, then I guess you can use another liner. Also, if you wanted to be safe with any diaper cream, you could use a liner.
Hope that helps!
I'm using the liner for poop. DS has been teething for months, (although STILL no teeth), but he destroys his diapers and the liner helps the pf's a lot.
I'll give it a shot tonight. Thanks!!They are called "reusable" because you don't throw them away like sposies.
We use rice paper liners for poop (when we know/are expecting a poop, not in every dipe) and fleece liners if she is showing any rash or redness to help keep the moisture off her skin and the cream (even though its CDsafe) off the dipe.
